As Vice President of Operations at Birdsey Group, Dan Powers leads the continued development and optimization of the firm’s operating platforms across distressed asset management, underwriting and field services, and construction. His focus is building scalable systems, strengthening cross-functional execution, and creating the operational structure required to support disciplined growth.
Dan brings more than 16 years of commercial real estate leadership experience across Agency, CMBS, and Private Label platforms. Over the course of his career, he has led organizational transformation, platform expansion, credit and portfolio operations, and enterprise-wide process improvement within complex institutional real estate environments.
Prior to joining Birdsey Group, Dan held progressively senior leadership roles at Arbor Realty Trust, including Senior Vice President of Operations and Interim Chief of Staff. He provided executive leadership across a 120-person commercial agency lending platform and helped guide the expansion of the business from traditional Agency lending into a diversified capital markets platform supporting more than $9 billion in originations at peak scale. He also founded and scaled Arbor’s Portfolio Retention division into a 30-person operation responsible for a $36.6 billion servicing portfolio.
