As Managing Director at Birdsey Group, Cooper Baker oversees underwriting and due diligence across agency, bridge, and institutional credit platforms. He is responsible for maintaining structured credit discipline, defined ownership, and early risk visibility across the underwriting lifecycle.
Cooper brings more than 15 years of commercial real estate experience across agency, CMBS, and multifamily platforms. He has underwritten and closed more than $800 million in agency transactions and led underwriting teams closing over $1.5 billion in annual production volume. His work includes sole credit authority on Freddie Mac conventional transactions up to $35 million and oversight of multi-state underwriting teams.
Prior to joining Birdsey, Cooper held leadership roles at Fannie Mae, Lima One Capital, Greystone Servicing Company, and Grandbridge Real Estate Capital, where he led underwriting execution, team development, and process enhancement initiatives.
